This book features handwritten letters and unconventional typography to tell the true story of the Kepner family's experience during WWII. Fourteen letters, written from the perspective of four family members and officials from the US government, are included in the book. Each letter is reprinted and housed in an envelope and a full spread is dedicated to the contents of the corresponding letter.
